Pair of Round Nerikomi Plates - Dark

A pair of statement plates that can be used as a small serving dishes or dessert plates. They were made using techniques inspired by traditional Japanese nerikomi: handbuilt combining layers of stained stoneware, then fired to cone 6 and glazed with a clear gloss. Food safe and dishwasher safe.

Each plate measures 7 in wide and 1.5 in tall.

They have a little bit of a rim. 

Currently only shipping to the US and Canada.

I make sculptures, drawings, photographs, and performances while contemplating how intimacy, risk, and harm inform habits of care. I am interested in how care-taking happens relative to capitalism's devaluation of reproductive labor. I began working this way when I became a divorced mother of two and in turn became dependent on queer family structures for support. Born and raised in South Carolina, I have lived in Baltimore for over 20 years.

I am currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy at Notre Dame of Maryland University, and make ceramic wares in my shed studio.
